On the 30th November Tenby welcomed a favourite speaker, Julian Cremona . Julian is a naturalist, biologist and wildlife photographer.
We were enthralled in the first half with his trip to Churchill in Canada to view and photograph polar bears . His anecdotes bring to life the talk, with laughter and and expansion of knowledge all in one swoop ! Stunning pictures of Polar Bears relaxing and playing , all in their natural icy habitat.

In the second half there was a change of pace to Spring in France . Gentle walks from his camper van through meadows and alongside pools, we were treated to moths and butterflies, flies and snakes. It is amazing what can be found in deep grass and hedgerows.

Two external competitions were held in November.

The Stanley Chell Print Competition, hosted by Aberdare Camera Club, was judged by Peter Weaver . There were 23 clubs competing, each submitting 4 prints . Tenby won the Best Club Entry in first place, scoring 78 out of 80.

The Afan Nedd Print Battle was held a few days later, with Peter Weaver judging again. There were five prints from 11 clubs, with Bridgend CC scoring the maximum 100/100 for the top spot . Tenby CC came a close second with 96/100.

16th November 2023

Tenby & District Camera Club held its judging of the portrait competition and the Panel’s competition tonight, it was a digital only event so we were able to judge the two competitions on the same night, we had 36 entries for the portrait competition and 12 entries for the panels competition with each panel having to produce 5 separate images organised into a pleasing display with an all encompassing theme. That’s 60 images entered for the panels competition.

Unfortunately our judge for the night was taken ill and was unable to attend at such short notice we were unable to get another judge, so our own Francis White bravely stepped in and read out the judge’s critique, which he had sent to us just before we started the evening, we are all very grateful to Francis, who did a great job at reading out the critique of the judge that could not attend. But we wish him a speedy recovery for his illness.

9th November 2023

Tenby & District Camera Club, was a full house because tonight’s presentation was given by Monica Doshi, from Solihull Birmingham.
Monica is no stranger to our club she was a regular visitor to us before the Covid lockdown, and it was so nice to see her again.
Monica is an accomplished photographer, holding awards of AFIAP, DPAGB, BP2*
and has traveled extensively throughout the UK, and many other parts of the world, her images and photographs she showed us reflecting her wide range of photographic skills.
We were delighted to see the stunning wildlife images and birds of prey from her many trips to Scotland and the Shetland & Orkney islands, the snow monkeys of Japan, and the big Cats of Kenya. She has also won a gold medal award for her rugby images, and was invited to be an official photographer at the Commonwealth Games in 2018 .
Monica travels and stays in her camper van, for much of her destinations, so is free to explore the many places that are of interest to her.
We all thoroughly enjoyed the evening, and our thanks go to Monica .
