Club History

TENBY & DISTRICT CAMERA CLUB HISTORY

The club was formed in the early 1980's. The founder of the club was the late Alan Hare of Saundersfoot. Some of the early members were Alan Hare, the late Wyn Waters (Bali Hi Cafe Tenby, the late Viv Walters (Coedraeth Country Club Saundersfoot), Trevor Hallett, Doug Williams and Ray Hine.

THE POTTERY HUT

The club was informed by the Council that if they got all of the pottery equipment out of the Pottery Hut then the club could use it as a club room.

Everyone helped to do that and then the task of removing years of red clay dust that covered the building from top to bottom was tackled. The hut was then repainted throughout and a dark room for developing print/slide film and printing was added. The enlarger allowed members to produce up to A3 size prints.

A kitchen area, a toilet were also added and the entrance and seating area carpeted.

Two members of the council, Mrs E Hodgeson and Mr V Morris came to inspect the work and were amazed and extremely pleased at the way the club had transformed the builing and said that the club had earned the right to call it Tenby & District Camera Club's HQ.
