We had a well supported mini competition on Thursday, 13th September , with"Monochrome" the theme. The members had 49 images to look at and score .The results were In top place were "Loving life" by Al Rees, an action dog shot, 2nd "Gateshead at night” a landscape of the water & bridges in Gateshead by Neil Thomas, 3rd "Mud Runner" by Anthony Thomas, a great capture of a lad in mud & water, 4th "Poppy" by Cheryl Hewitt, 5th"Last One Standing" by Janet Sullivan, 6th "Hot Rod" by Neil Thomas and 7th "Small Tortoiseshell" by Sara Anderson.
Many thanks to everyone who entered but particularly Harry Gardiner, our own club member & judge who chose a selection of the images to critique. His comments are always useful to the experienced & budding photographers alike. Lots of tips on technique, composition and processing & giving the authors a chance to discuss their work.
Next week on the 20th September, we will welcome Rob Mitchell and his talk titled “ A can of worms” . Rob is a retired teacher of photography based in Swansea, and his talk is sure to be interesting.
Come along as a guest to see for yourselves . We meet 7.30 on Thursday nights in St Florence Hall . Details of our clubs activities can be found on our website.
