LANDSCAPE COMPETITION
TENBY CAMERA CLUB NEWS
It was the judging of our Landscapes competition on November 1st . Judge Alan Stokes, from South Wales used his newly honed judging skills on our vast array of landscapes. He took his time in a calm manner. He told us he was most impressed with the high standard and variety of styles which made his scoring difficult. As he progressed through the images he gave many pointers to watch out for when taking landscapes. For instance, using the 2/3rds rule , having a clear focal point, having a lead in and point of interest .Printing paper types and size of images all should be considered.
There were 26 print entries in colour & B&W, ranging from sunsets to mountain ranges and beaches. The winners were in first place Dave Marriott with “ Church Rock ” , second place, Roy Peters with “ Toadstool Rock ” and Neil Thomas with “ Rhosyd Chapel, Cwmorthin ”.
There were 32 digital entries , many from new members being brave to be critiqued . The winners were first with “ The Lonely Tree” by Dave Marriott, second with “ Guarding Over” by Chris Warren and third “Sunset over the Aosta Valley Italy” by Al Rees. Again, an excellent diverse range of shots such as moody weather conditions from home & abroad.
Many congratulations to Dave Marriott for winning both sections, and to all the placed photographers. Many thanks to Alan Stokes for an excellent judged competition.
All the winning images can be viewed on the website.

Many club members provided images, a good bank of photographs helps with this type of competition.
