CREATIVE COMP
TENBY CAMERA CLUB NEWS
Tenby Camera Club welcomed Martyn Pinchers to judge the Creative Competition. There was a very diverse range of subjects and styles. Creative can be achieved totally through the camera or with a camera & photoshop. Several images can be layered to give a composite with a totally new meaning ! Some of the images portrayed a dark side or were surreal.
The images were all judged on the night, starting with the prints of which there were 14 entries. The 1st place went to Gill MacKay with “The Rose". A stunning all white image of a Rose in a vase. Second place went to Al Rees with “Sherlock Bones” (her dog dressed as Sherlock!) and finally in joint third were Dave Bolton with ‘The Beying Bride”and Gary Mayhew with ‘Distant Suns”
The 19 digital entries produced in first place “Puffin & Prey” by Dave Bolton a very clever and original underwater shot with a bit of photoshop thrown in ! In second place also by Dave Bolton was “Jack & Mary 09-11-1888” A rather gruesome depiction of a murderous event in Tenby! Sharing joint third place was Jan Sullivan with “Sweet Pickings” and Al Rees with “Jumping into the Real World”
Next week on the 8th February there will be an in-house tutorial session. There will be opportunities to ask lots of questions about cameras, photography and software techniques.
