TENBY CAMERA CLUB NEWSLETTER

On Thursday 7th December , Tenby Camera Club welcomed Jenny Hibbert , MPAGB, EFIAP/b, AWPF (Glamorgan) from Bridgend, to judge the Wildlife Competition. Jenny has an excellent reputation for photographing wildlife & has achieved many successes herself nationally & Internationally.

After praising the high standard of entries , Jenny explained how she approached judging & why she placed the images into a winning order .

The print entries of which there were 18 entries were looked at first. There was a good range of subjects, birds of all types, an ant , a salmon jumping up river , damselflies and a seal !

The winners were with 20 points Al Rees with “Avocet watching over baby “, also with 20 points was Gary Jenkins in 2nd place with ‘Newly emerged four spotted Chaser” and in 3rd place with 19 points was Charlie Kidd and “ Sparrowhawk with prey” .

The digital entries, of which there were 33, included images of wildlife from distant lands as well as British wildlife .

The winners were in 1st place, Roy Peters scoring a maximum of 20 with “ Elephants crossing the River “ . In 2nd place with 20 points was Al Rees were her “Swallow fading it’s baby” . In 3rd place was Dave Bolton , scoring 19 with ‘A little brown bugger” ( or a dunlin if you are confused ! )

Always good to see such a variance of subject matter & so much in our own local counties.
