At the penultimate club competition of the winter season, Dave Lewis Internal Competitions Secretary introduced the judge for the evening, Trevor James BA (Hons), ARPS,AWPF. Trevor hails from the Rhondda and is a member of the Gwynfor Camera Club; he gained his degree as a mature student at the Cardiff Metropolitan.

Trevor has been on the Welsh panel ofjudges for two years and this was his first visit to Tenby and District Camera Club to judge.

Before beginning his judging he told the membership that he was impressed by the presentation and mounting of images and further commented on the high standard of photography that was presented for judging. At the end of the day it’s your camera and your photographs. Do as you wish, post your images, take critique on your shoulders and develop your own style.

Trevor gave an honest and clear critique of the twenty six images submitted. As he stated earlier it was a high standard of photography which reflected in his marking five images gaining 18 points, 5 images 19 points and the winning image ‘Preseli Mountain Horse' by Jan Sullivan gaining 20 points. In second place was ‘Its’ a Hard Life’ also by Jan Sullivan and third place ‘Birds on a Wire’ by Cheryl Hewitt both gaining 19 points.

Following the custom refreshment break Trevor gave his critique of the twenty four digital images. Once again 4 images gained 18 points, 3 images 19 points and the winning digital image being‘Harvest Mouse’ by Rosie Dungey. Second place was ‘Kingfisher with Catch’ by Charlie Kidd and third place ‘Just Dolly’ by Rosie Dungey.

Well done to all members who submitted images and in particular the lady club members who almost made it a girls night
