On Thursday 26th October Tenby Camera Club was treated to a very original talk. Mark Mumford FRPS from Pembrey had members enthralled with his images to illustrate ‘Pixel Twisting ‘
Mark is a Digital Artist, an Artist, Illustrator, Graphic Designer and Photographer . He specialises in creating wonderful surreal digital images using only his photographs and Photoshop .His surreal work has a distinct style which is primarily landscape photography but with slight hints of Dali, Bosch, Bacon and MC Escher.
His skill with Photoshop is stunning .Everyone in the room was interested at what could be achieved digitally. He explained how he takes photographs of very ordinary things which then can be utilised within a project . He showed how to merge images together, how to distort characters within an image , even building a dog image from selected pieces of radiators . He is ingenious and creative, his ideas simple at first then developed into quite unique images .
We came away brimming with ideas from the stimulating talk, thinking ahead to our Creative Competition in the New Year.
On the 2nd November , there will be the judging of our Landscape Competition .Useful critique for everyone to learn from. Guests welcome.
