Brian Jennings Trophy

Monday 16th saw 11 club members make the journey to Trostre Camera Club to support Tenby in the Brian Jennings Trophy. Eight clubs submitting 5 images each to be judged by WPF judge Leigh Woolford DPAGB EFIAP AWPF.

Tenby got off to a great start in the first round with Al Rees scoring the maximum 20 with 'What are you looking at'. In the second round Tenby continued to do well with 'The Finisher' by Gill Mackay which scored 17. In the third round Mike Cullis's 'The Lookout' scored 19 which put Tenby on 56 points at the interval, one behind Llanelli and equal with Kidwelly with Towy Valley a further point adrift.

After an excellent buffet Leigh Woodford continued his excellent critique and judging with Tenby gaining another 20 with Dave Bolton's 'There Is That Better' which left Tenby and Llanelli in equal first with Kidwelly and Towy Valley slipping a little further behind.

Going into the last round it appeared to be a straight battle between Llanelli and Tenby barring any disaster for either club.

Llanelli set the bar very high with a 20 from their final image which meant that Tenby needed the same to finish equal first. Unfortunately it wasn't to be with Leigh awarding Gary Mayhew's 'Jokulsarlon Ice Lagoon' 17 points.

Final results were Llanelli 96, Tenby 93, Towy Valley 91, Kidwelly 89, Trostre 86, Abertawe and Carmarthen 84.

Congratulations to all the authors for a strong showing especially Al Rees and Dave Bolton for scoring the maximum 20 points for their images. An excellent achievement as Tenby was the only club to achieve 2 maximum scores. Also great to see new faces representing the club and doing well.
