27 March 2025: Dave Astins Birds of the Pembrokeshire Coast
Dave Astins, the man behind West Coast Birdwatching {https://www.westcoastbirdwatching.co.uk}, captivated a packed room of members and guests. Dave is a dedicated and knowledgeable ornithologist who can fascinate his audience with great photography. A treat to see so many images, showing all the species of birds to be found around the Pembrokeshire Coast and Islands. Dave presented many facts and figures on numbers of the colonies to be found, breeding numbers, which colonies are endangered, which colonies are doing well and why.
The islands such as Skomer, Skokholm, Grassholm and Ramsey are very important worldwide for bird populations. Dave’s love of these places shone through.
A very interesting and informative talk which was very much appreciated by Tenby CC .
